If you’ve played the game on other systems, you’ll likely be excited to see what will no doubt be the strongest portable version of the game coming to Switch. Super Meat Boy will be on sale today (Friday (7/24), from Limited Run Games. Super Meat Boy is a tough as nails platformer where you play as an animated cube of meat who's trying to save his girlfriend (who happens to be made of bandages) from an evil fetus in a jar wearing a tux.Our meaty hero will leap from walls, over seas of buzz saws, through crumbling caves and pools of old needles. Earlier this week, the card game Super Meat Boy: Rival Rush was unveiled and showed off at PAX West. Originally released in 2010, Super Meat Boy quickly became one of the most popular platformers, and for good reason. Super Meat Boy has received numerous awards over time, and is one of the highest-reviewed indie games to ever be released. Everyone’s favorite gorey platformer Super Meat Boy now has a playable physical card game. We’ve already seen in recent times that the voice of the gaming community has a strong influence on things like this, hopefully meaning that a physical release is a very realistic possibility. The original Super Meat Boy is amazing and even though its creator Ed McMillan is no longer in the development team, Super Meat Boy Forever does an amazing job of re-creating the original game’s magic while stirring in a few new ingredients to keep it feeling fresh.When I heard the sequel was going to be an auto-runner I did wince a little.

That’s not all! A poll was put forward to fans via the same Twitter account, asking whether or not they would be interested in a physical release of the game on Switch. Its developer (appropriately called Team Meat) tweeted this enticing little message to confirm that the game is coming to Switch. With all of the excitement surrounding the release of Super Meat Boy Forever, lets just bring it all back to basics and get hyped for the fact Super Meat Boy is slated to launch in December. It needs an incredibly high level of precision and timing, providing a real challenge even for platforming veterans. In the game, you take control of what is effectively a red cube of meat, jumping and sprinting around hundreds of levels at lightning speed. Thankfully, their prayers have now been answered. While the standard edition simply contains the cartridge in a box with a manual, the collector’s edition contains: Super Meat Boy Forever game with manual. That doesn’t stop it from being an awesome little platformer however, and fans of the game have wanted to see a release for Nintendo Switch. In classic Limited Run fashion, there’s a standard edition and an enthusiastic collector’s edition. Super Meat Boy has been around for years now originally releasing on Xbox 360 in 2010, with various other console releases since then.
